The Original Venice BlueCats were born out of the very same neighborhood as Jim Morrison and the Doors, the Venice Beach Ocean Front Walk; where in the winter of 2005, The BlueCats began as The Venice BlueCats performing each Friday night at The Venice Bistro, honing their act and original material leading up to the release of the first album “Perfect Example” in 2007. Since then, The BlueCats have
grown and matured with the addition of Keith Pttelll (Guitar and Songwriter), Vick Patron (Bass) and Steve Ebner (Drums) , formerly of The Cash Cats. On their new album, “Earthquake Mama”, The BlueCats are joined by Kirk Nelson (Keyboards) and Juliette Angeli (Backup Vocals). Mark Newstetter lends his song writing and guitar playing talent on “Knockn’”. Alan Mirikatani (AKA B.B.Chung King) engineers the album and composed Ms. Angeli’s backup harmonies. This band is kind of like Fabulous Thunderbirds meets Johnny Winter. There is an edginess to the guitar work that moves the feeling into a low down, Texas roadhouse vibe.
