All members of Cherries On A Blacklist took a long journey and left their countries to accomplish the same goal, to grow as musicians and broaden their horizons. George, Andreas, and Malapert grew up in the island of Rhodes/Greece, whose main financial resource is tourism.

On the other side of the Atlantic, Gonzo grew up in Monterrey, one of Mexico’s
most important industrial cities. In order to keep playing music and reach a higher level, they realized that they would soon have to leave. They all moved to Hamburg/Germany, a city renowned for its musical background and founded the band “Cherries On A Blacklist” in 2007.
The name of the band can be interpreted in many ways. The main meaning behind it is that “Cherries” represents the purity, innocence and beauty that have been blacklisted, giving presence to the confusion and misunderstanding happening all around us. The band “Cherries On A Blacklist” observes that and expresses it in
words and music.

Within a small period of time the band began to gain the attention of local clubs. They recorded their first EP titled “14” in the summer of 2008
and in the following year they managed to play all over Germany.
Since then, the band kept moving forward, spending many hours rehearsing and working on the pre-production for their debut album; without compromising in their songwriting. The band decided to record their debut album “Lakafigo” with producer Olman Viper (Null Zwei Studios in Hamburg) who has been known to work with bands such as Caliban, Jupiter Jones, and Emil Bulls.

In 2011 the band took the decision to start their very own label. During the summer they were able to enter a partnership with “New Music Distribution” in Hamburg. As a result “Grey Ham Records” was founded in August 2011.

Cherries On A Blacklist released their first single “Goat in the Yard” October 14th 2011. The official release date for their debut album “Lakafigo” is set for May 4th 2012.
