Ethos is an American progressive rock band from Rome, Georgia. Formed in 2010, the band consists of Austen Earp (lead vocals, piano, guitar, synthesizer), Matthew Palopoli (lead guitar), Nick Riggs (bass, vocals), and Tribb Robison (drums, percussion).
Known for their fusion of classical piano, heavy rock riffs, and syncopated rhythms, the group exhibits a technically rich yet accessible rock sound that unlocks a brand new spectrum of musical color.
Their debut album, Vessels, was independently released July 10th, 2012, featuring high energy, emotive music by integrating the classical, progressive, and alternative genres.
The record was written and recorded during the greater part of 2011-2012 in their home studio. It was produced by Austen Earp, and mastered by Rodney Mills (Atlanta, GA).
Earp and Palopoli met in 2009 while studying at university. Both having high hopes for careers in music, they recorded a demo with the expectation of recruiting two more members. Earp and Palopoli decided to leave school shortly after Riggs and Robison joined in 2010, in order to devote more time to the project. The group felt compelled to begin recording a full-length record only after playing a handful of shows together. The group is currently touring locally to promote their recent release.
