 Biography

How to Destroy Angels is a musical project announced in April 2010 amongst Trent Reznor, Mariqueen Reznor, and Atticus Ross. The band is named after How to Destroy Angels, the first single by Coil.

The band started out by releasing 4 short clips. The clips contained the band members playing various instruments. Shortly after these clips, they released their first single ‘A Drowning’ through Pitchfork.com. After, the band released a video for a track entitled “The Space in Between”. The EP was released as a digital download on the 1st of June, 2010, and was released in a physical format on the 6th of July, 2010.

Trent Reznor is renowned for the creative methods through which he releases his music. Whether it be releasing Year Zero alongside a massive “alternate reality game”, or releasing the instrumental album Ghosts I-IV without warning, Trent knows how to inspire interest in fans. How to Destroy Angels is no different, with mysterious clips offering little substance to curious fans.

The website features a picture of Trent Reznor’s wife Mariqueen (former member of West Indian Girl) as well as a number of embedded videos of band members playing various instruments. Atticus Ross (producer of Nine Inch Nails latest four albums) can be seen playing bass. In another, Mariqueen Reznor can be seen playing keyboard. The band recently contributed to the soundtrack of the movie The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

An Omen EP will be their debut release on Columbia Records, available November 13th digitally and on 12" vinyl. Their full length LP is due out in Spring 2013.
