ILL NIÑO’s Latin roots run bloody and deep. As original and refreshing as their sound is, they’re equipped with an arsenal of melodic vocals, bilingual lyrics,flamenco guitars, tribal drums, Latin percussion, and Salsa-infused bass lines, all while providing a pummeling dose of Latin metal and Hard Rock grooves.
After teaming up with VICTORY RECORDS in March of 2010, ILL NIÑOwill be setting a new standard with their 5th full length release, Dead New World. New Jersey/New York born ILL NIÑO formed in late 1999 and have proudly spent the last decade building an army of loyal fans.ILL NIÑO became the epitome of Latin Metal in 2001 with their monster debut album, Revolution, Revolución. Strong airplay for their first single “What Comes Around” and slots on both Ozzfest, and Jagermeister tours in 2002, helped the album sell nearly 410,000 units worldwide.
Shortly following the success of their first album ILL NIÑO returns in 2003 with their sophomore release Confession, and managed to surpass their debut, selling over 500,000 copies worldwide. ILL NIÑO’s lead single “How Can I Live” was featured on the Freddy vs. Jason soundtrack and film, making it their first single to hit Billboard charts, peaking at number 26 on Mainstream Rock. The sextet’s relentless touring with the likes of Linkin Park, Godsmack, Korn, and Sevendust established ILL NIÑO as one of the most lethal live bands of the decade.
By their third release One Nation Underground in 2005, and loaded with the highly acclaimed single “What You Deserve,” ILL NIÑO landed No. 1 Most Added track at Active Rock radio, four weeks prior tothe album’s release! In typical ILL NIÑO fashion the band sets out on a 16 month world tour, which includes U.S. and European shows with the likes of Disturbed, Guns & Roses, Avenged Sevenfold and Static X .
On their fourth anticipated CD Enigma in 2008, the release of the single “Me Gusta La Soledad” was a staple moment in the band’s career, for this was the first time they release a song entirely in Spanish, as well as perform headlining sold out shows in the U.S., Europe, Russia, and South America. With the positive response and excitement from their ever-growing fan base, ILL NIÑO proudly heads back into the studio to deliver their fifth studio album, Dead New World, and begins the cycle with the infectious single “Against The Wall”. In the last decade Rock Latin artists have continued to grow and break new ground, ILL NIÑO is the bilingual hybrid, which has discovered the perfect blend between Hispanic flavors, Latin grooves and Metal styles.
