Currently based in Brooklyn, Red Measure consists of core members Randall Suarez (guitar and vocals) and David Kanbergs (bass).  Suarez began looking for likeminded musicians in 2008. After 2 years and many disappointments, he found himself exhausted. The musicians he was finding were unable to contribute to the music he was trying to create. In frustration, he posted an online ad “searching for someone interested in exploring a dark, strange approach to hypnotic rock music who is also not an asshole." The same week, Kanbergs posted a similar ad.  As a result, the two made contact and quickly found that they shared musical ideals and aesthetics. With a sense of purpose, the band’s nucleus took form.

The band played multiple shows together before going into the studio to record their first EP entitles "Seven Inch". The EP was self-released on September 20th in 7" vinyl, CD, and digital form. The music has been described as heavy, no-nonsense rock music with trance inducing beats.

Red Measure is dedicated to reaching more and more people with the music they love. Regardless of today’s musical climate they will continue to delve deeper into themselves to expand their music into new terrain with a vision all their own.
