It’s been said that when you’re growing up in the mid-west, your options are limited. For the band members of So They Say, growing up in St. Louis Missouri proved this theory to be true. With nothing to really occupy their time, the members of So They Say decided to devote themselves to the one thing they loved the most- making music.

Their passion is paying off, as So They Say’s first full length Antidote For Irony will be released March 7th on Fearless Records. Produced by Matt Squire (Panic! At the Disco, the Receiving End of Sirens) Antidote for Irony is an intensely self therapeutic record. Drummer Justin Hanson said, “The whole album is a cycle really. It’s about revenge, then it turns into a more self reflective themed album. It’s about learning how to deal with change, revenge and growth.” Recording Antidote For Irony was indeed a reflective growth period for So They Say when they were working in the studio with Squire. “We write our songs, but Matt really made us cut the BS and focus. He has this ability to hear the potential of a certain musical piece and turn it into this living breathing song,” states Hanson.

Less than a year after forming, So They Say signed to Fearless Records, where they released their debut self titled EP. In addition to the EP, they covered Rod Stewart’s “Forever Young” which appeared on the Punk Goes 80’s compilation. That summer, in front of thousands of fans they played regional mid-west 2005 Warped Tour shows.
2006 is sure to be more exciting than the last. In addition to touring the nation they’re scheduled to play dates on the 2006 Warped Tour where fans of Thrice, Armor For Sleep and the Starting Line are sure to be mesmerized by So They Say.

So it’s been said that young people can’t accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Whoever said that was wrong. What the band has accomplished so far is just a beginning glimpse of what’s yet to come. The sky is the limit for So They Say and this band is sure to go above and beyond that.
