The multi-talented Kristin Hersh is back with her followup to 1999's amazing Sky Motel. on Sunny Border Blue Kristin has actually pulled off plying every single instrument save one drum track as well as producing. Talk about getting something done exactly like you want. The result is a very personal sounding album that is fragile at times but due to her seasoned production work the layers of vocals and instruments leads to very full sounding album. Although her tracks still seem as though they are confessional she is able to keep it sounding new and fresh. She has chosen to cover Cat Stevens' "Trouble" and it fits right in as though she had written it. After putting out five solo albums in addition to all her work with the Throwing Muses one can't help but wonder if her talent will ever be tapped. She is a beautiful songwriter as well as composer.
