Ekova has managed to do quite a neat thing here with Soft Breeze and Tsunami Breaks. What they have done isn't just a simple remix album but created a new standalone work. Although I really enjoyed their debut, Heaven's Dust, I think I prefer this album. There seems to be a little more thought and inventiveness going into the songs here in the way they are presented. If you heard the debut you will be familiar with singer Diedre Dubois' invented language. You will never be able to follow along because she makes up the language as she goes along. With this remix project many modern sounds have been incorporated into the already unique sound that Ekova posess. Everything from dubby reggae to heavy metal guitar riffs can be found on this totally diverse album. Even if you didn't care for their other album I strongly encourage at least a listen to Soft Breeze & Tsunami Breaks.
