Brent Cooper's little 'gag band' has withstood 10 years and by the sounds of Muerte Del Toro there are no signs of stopping. Huevos Rancheros are one of Calgary's oldest bands and the seem to have travelled the world over. They haven't had that many albums out but when they release one there is reason for much rejoicing. For those of you completely out of the loop, Huevos Rancheros play a style of (I know they hate the term but...) surf style music inspired by the likes of Dick Dale and the Ventures. Once you throw a more punk edge to it like Reverend Horton Heat you get more of a rockabilly style. Any way you cut it it's great instrumental guitar rock courtesy of Brent's talented guitar playing. They have found a friend in Tom Bagley, of Forbidden Dimension fame, as he has done the artwork on all of their releases. Need something different - try on Huevos Rancheros.
