People - The Cliche
California's generically titled band, People, is working on getting the balls back into rock with their new EP The Cliche. There are some retro elements in their music but you can hear some modern almost spacey elements in tracks like "Young Luv". The vocals are delivered in a cocky manner, giving the aura of confidence in their music. Guitars are slightly distorted but also delivered in a confident approach. The best song on the EP was the final track, "Tune In, Turn On and Drop Out". There was such a fun and energetic vibe to this song almost throwing the band into the pop territory. I compared them to The Cult thinking that this band would probably put on a performance just as lively.
I actually found myself wishing The Cliche was a full-length album rather than a 5 song EP. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a lot more from People. Maybe a band change is in order. Something with the balls that the vocalist sings with!
