Two Lefts, despite it's cumbersome title, loses a bit of the silliness of the band's earlier album, The Anatomy of Tongue In Cheek. And in some ways, that's a good thing. While Anatomy had a few better songs, Two Lefts is more solid overall. And note I said "a bit" of the silliness. There's still plenty of fun moments, from playfully whining about the loss of the 80's, the complexity of girls and difficulty of college. There are a few more mature moments, such as Jefferson Aero Plane, but it's the outrageous hidden track within that song listeners will remember more.
It's an album only a teenager could listen to on repeat, but I'll gladly embrace the occasional listen and long for the days when skateboarding was an acceptable way to spend an entire afternoon.
