Jerk With A Bomb is back with their follow up to The Old Noise. Their music gently caresses you into a downright mindfuck. It is gentle and yet possesses a dark and brooding quality that reaches into your every emotion. Pyrokinesis has improved on where the guys were going on The Old Noise. Songs seem even more thought out and some trial and error was used to get to the end result. There are a couple tracks where they really get motoring, like on “Le Bang Bang, which sounds a bit like another Canadian band called By Divine Right. For the most part Jerk With A Bomb is quiet but still very creative. “Raging Bulls is one of the darkest tracks on the album that lopes along like a bad virus. Pyrokinesis is an album full of surprises and is very diverse from beginning to end. The third member they have added makes the band an even fuller sounding project. Jerk With A Bomb are definitely an acquired taste but once you have had a bite you keep coming back for more.
