I love Juliana's Theory here: Emotion Is Dead. When asked what the title meant, band leader Brett Detar claimed that in modern music there is little or no emotional heartbeat left. He is talking about the overproduction and manufactured pop sensations that litter the charts today. The Juliana Theory is out to prove that music can have emotion, feeling, heart and soul. Only the bands second album they have already perfected their brand of emo-rock and it's just too damn good to go anywhere on modern radio. If a station was to pick up any of these songs the major labels would have a heartattack. More pop than anything, Juliana Theory can totally rock out and then in the next song have a "baby, baby" in the ballad and it seem perfectly natural. This is a band that doesn't give a shit about being held back by any genre definitions. They are all about freedom and doing what they want to do. Do youself a favour and grab this album. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. So as much as it seems ironic, this Juliana Theory album is far from dead.
