Anthony Green is what's missing from this band now and they won't ever be the same.

While In Search of Solid Ground has a few catchy numbers it leaves the listener overly unsatisfied. Many of the songs share the same feel and fail to leave any notable impact. Saosin fans are left making comparisons between this effort and the self0 titled. Songs like Changing and Voices are interchangeable on either record. Label giant Virgin obviously wanted a cleaner accessible sound from the band and they barely come short of selling out. Their Teaming up with Hurley for two music videos is evidence of this. Many fans abandoned the band after the departure of original lead singer Anthony Green. While Cove Reber's lyrics are improved, the comparisons to Green live on and Reber falls well short of matching vocally and lyrically. It's evident Saosin is catering to the California kid but its a direction many bands have taken with minimal success. They fail to truly break out of a dull scene that is approaching the end of its heyday. Saosin can still be grouped with a dozen warped tour bands making it hard to lose the emo/pop tag that comes with the territory. All in all, fans are left searching for a solid album and subsequently the band is still searching for a solid review.

Not bad, bland. It could be the album from about 25 different bands. A Static Lullaby, Senses Fail, Greeley Estates, Alesana, Senses Fail, Hawthorne Heights. I'm so done with bands like this. Add something new or don't come out at all!

Wow. In Search of Solid Ground is anything but. Saosin really needs to find something original. There are SO many bands in this emo/punk category that sound identical. It is getting to be so bloody boring. Unreal.
