Sheffield Duo Slow Club, aka Charles Watson & Rebecca Taylor have been releasing softcore-rockabilly singles such as "Let's Fall Back In Love" and "Me & You" since 2006, so having waited for the release of a full-length debut for quite some time you'd have thought they'd taken some change in musical direction. Fortunately Not. The album is thankfully full to them brim with love-based sing songs. Half of which make you want to morph your chair into a trampoline, half of which are slow sing-along ballads. Songs like "Because We're Dead", an old classic, and "Giving Up On Love" a new one, make the duo sound like a 5-piece rock band, them making such incredible noise for only two people. "Sorry About The Doom" highlights Rebecca's incredible voice in a slow, moving love song. This is a fabulous album, an album that should be remembered for its sweetness, if I were a teenage girl, after each and every song I'd say "AWWW". If there's any album released this year which is more twee than this, please send me a PM.
