Before this album I was never aware of King Black Acid. Their long extended jams are amazing trips that are filled with psychedelic imagery. Shortest song on Loves A Long Song is 4:26 and then they can go on for 12+ minutes. Don't let that scare you off when images of past prog rock bands enter your head. King Black Acid keeps it interesting not only through a 12 minute song but thoughout the entire album. The songs start out as a hint of what's to come and then they gradually build up until they hover right over top of you, almost ready to collapse. Even though the drug references are there and I'm sure the band will always get them, they are beyond that. They are visionaries of sonic masterpieces of epic proportions. Even with Daniel Riddle's calm voice the band is able to maintain a structure through their opus'. Most definitely a headphone album.
