Having never heard of Lefty’s Deceiver, I was completely new to them coming into this EP. Some bands are best at just sticking to full-length albums. It’s not that Lefty’s Deceiver is a bad band, it just seems that Process Junior is a little uninspired. The way the production is done, for instance. It sounds like the singer is in the back of the room while singing into a mic at the front of the room. Guitar’s are pretty harse with grating melodies coming out from them. The songs, however, are fairly well written. They do have a bit of the post-rock feel to them but they have a little more melody than typical post-rock. All in all, Process Junior is not a very inspired piece of work. Lefty’s Deceiver does show promise. They just need to get into the right studio with the right producer.
