Yet another low-fi mope-rock type band. I have been seeing quite a few of these lately but amazingly enough there are rarely a bad album in the "twee". The assumption here is that these birds are lesser in the fact that they are slightly off key for most part. Don't let that turn you off though because that's where the charm lies. Yes, charm in a "twee" band. I know it's not hard pressed to imagine but this band somehow keeps you listening and interested in every vocal and note. Don't listen to this while you are driving or operating heavy machinery because I can't guarantee that sleep won't overcome you. Mark Janka writes very dark lyrics but is able to throw them against a backdrop of very pleasent soundscapes to come up with his own sound. Twee is a style that Many bands are turning towards and any bands looking for a template should look towards Lesser Birds.
