Despite the 5 in the albums nam, this is the 1irst longplayer for The Letter E. The band was introduced to us earlier in 2000 with the amazing 4 song ep (review below). Touting member of many prominent indie bands one would come to expect a quality recording, especially with the amazing Bob Weston taking production control. This seven song album reaches and exceeds all expectation in it's instrumental glory. It's peaceful even with the obscure time signatures they are using. These guys know their technical stuff and aren't afraid to show it off. The earthy feel to the album is very pleasant and isn't lost once throughout the entire affair. The music is lush and full but never abrasive. Sit back and relax while Letter E tells you what it's all about. A fine debut for a great set of musicians.
