I was a big fan of Wolfmother when they first came out, so I figured I'd give 'Cosmic Egg' a listen. I could not be more disappointed. I read a few reviews and the main subject was how the band ripped off bands like Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and others. I usually ignore this, but after listening to this album I would have to agree. The best part of their self titled album was the catchy hooks, and the sing-a-long vocals, but that is missing big time on this effort. One of my biggest gripes with this record is the vocals. The lead singer's voice gets really really old after the first few tracks almost to the point that I couldn't finish listening to the whole album. For anyone who hasn't listened to Cosmic Egg yet I'd say stay away.
