Ardavan Kamkar is a master of the santur (hammer dulcimer) and it's easy to understand when one looks at The Kamkars, a Kurdish family consisting of eight siblings. Ardavan (the youngest Kamkar) learned to play the Santur when he was only four years old by his talented father. One listen to OVer The Wind will reveal his mastery of the instrument. The seventy-two stringed instrument is not an easy instrument to play either with its hand held wooden-hammers beating on separate strings. Its impossible to pick a favorite track because all six songs are equally intricate and melodic. Ardavan is indeed the master of the Hammered Dulcimer.
