Love As Laughter is out with their new album entitled Sea to Shining Sea. Some background to Love as Laughter: the band is basically the result of Sam Jayne’s hard work and dedication to indie music. Along the way he has picked up like musicians that he felt would benefit his project and LAL was born. Love As Laughter have elements of 60’s revivalists like Delta 72 but also have the panache of bands like Sonic Youth and Trail of Dead that make them seem more current than the batch of retro bands. Songs are loosely held together but all have a steady groove and guitars bordering on chaos at times. The band rips through 10 tracks in what seems like no time. LAL is able switch up the tempo and rock out at times and others they lay back and provide a little more introspect. Love As Laughter has no problem throwing in demo quality songs in with the songs that have been well produced. Sam has realized a dream with Love As Laughter and fans will fully appreciate where Sam and company are heading with Sea To Shining Sea.
