I must admit that I had never heard of Greg MacPherson before but I take total blame for that. This is Greg’s second album and with him being a Canadian like myself I would have thought that I might have crossed paths with him or his music. Good Times Coming Back Again is a fine album and one that will definitely appeal to a wide audience. The first thing that I read on the bio that came with the disc was “The comparisons to Bruce Springsteen seem inevitable. When a label throws something like that on a persons bio it actually does it a disservice because that is the artist that sticks in your head as you listen to the artist written about. So now as I listen to Greg MacPherson the only thing that I can think of is the Boss. It’s really not far off. Think of Springsteen starting out right now in today’s environment and with a little more punk attitude. I don’t think that Greg really tried to sound like Bruce but that’s the way things go. Somehow he sounds even more original than most acts out there right now. Honesty, hardworking, socially conscious, unaffected, romantic are all words that come to me while listening to this great album. He deserves to be compared to Bruce and further more he deserves to be heard. Good Times Coming Back Again is an album to be proud of.
