The Makers delve even further into the glam rock days of past with Strangest Parade. The very interesting thing is that The Makers do it like it’s a brand new thing. I’m not going to be the one to tell them about David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust days. To tell you the truth, this sounds very refreshing in today’s gamut of garage rock and quiet pop making it’s way over from England. Have a listen to “Calling Elvis, John, and Jesus for just a taste of this album’s brilliance. If you are a fan of the Makers older material then you might be in for a shock with the albums quieter songs and the more dramatic delivery that they choose to do. If you hopped on board around 2000’s Rock Star God then Strangest Parade won’t be as much of a departure for you. For the former, you can take enjoyment in the headier “Addicted To Dying which may be the album’s hardest rocker. The Makers do make fine music and are trying to forge their way into a new sound. Strangest Parade will be the album that will make that leap a memorable one.
