RecommendThe Mansions are an American band that wants to be British so bad you can taste it. So what they have done is taken all that they like out of the Brit-pop music they enjoy and inject an American style to it. What you have is Charms for Love and Revenge. They literally blend all that rocks Brit-pop and inject with a good dose of American glam-rock. The Mansions claim that Pulp and Suede are their two biggest influences and you can really hear it in their intelligent rock. For the most part, The Mansions demonstrate some very smart songwriting and great musicianship as well. They aren't that old and already they have cut their teeth in such clubs as L.A.'s Roxy and the Whiskey. My sense is that the Mansions are a band that you should watch out for. It may take them a while in order to get some credibility on our shores but if they ever tour England they would be a smash.

Very interesting. I can't find ANY mention of this album anywhere other than on CDbaby. I'll check in with the Doghouse folks and see if it is indeed the same band.
