I'm not going to go anywhere near saying that this is the best original music in 2010 either... Mostly because of a few hundred albums on the same caliber that have come out over the last decade.

Nothing special here, but not bad in the background of something else that you're doing. I enjoyed the production of the 3 songs that I heard, minus the fact that the vocals - how they were done, something - just didn't sit well in the mix whatsoever (minus most of the track, "The Living Library", which was my favorite of the trio presented).

This would surely be something to get a better idea of live, I'm sure... (A six piece? Really?) but the review below doesn't make me want to do that at all.

I wouldn't go as too far as to say best original music in 2010, but this had some kick and drive. Gritty and with potential. Nice share. "The Living Library" was a bit haunting and retro, I enjoyed this a bit

Possibly the best original music so far in 2010, Vintage Kicks' - The Empyre of the Sun EP, offers a fresh and imaginative new spin to what is considered "rock" or "alternative". Based out of Philly/Jersey, this 6 piece band can be seen playing locally in both Philadelphia and New Jersey, but make sure to catch them later in the Summer of 2010 all over the East Coast! This cd is jam packed with heart, energy, and hooks that will have you leaving "The Empyre" in your cd player for a long time. The lyrical content is deep as well, diving into topics that will have you searching google for sure. Overall, don't sleep on this one folks. No matter what you're listening to nowadays, Vintage Kicks will be a breath of fresh air. You can see or hear more on the myspace page - myspace.com/vintagekicksmusic. I have a hunch we'll be hearing much more from these guys, cause this EP leaves you wanting more in a really good way!!!
