Tiger Style is turning into a fine record label with quality bands on it's roster. Mercury Program are one example of the high calibre talent the label has. This 5 song ep is the second release for Mercury Program on Tiger Style and a fine one at that. The tracks are completely instrumental and the band has added one more instrumentalist, Whit Travisano. Somewhere between rock and jazz lie the sounds of The Mercury Program and that takes talent. You can politely refer to the band as mood rock ensemble as the sounds contained are orchestral in nature. The appealing thing about this ep is the great use of vibes and keyboards. Not that their creativity needed it but it's an added depth. Some tracks carry on for a while ("Marianas" is over 7 minutes) but you never feel bored. Mercury Program succeed on all counts of losing their suits.
