I was reading the bio on Suba and was quite impressed at the artists roots. Born in Yugoslavia and studied music all over Europe - then taking what he learned to Sao Paulo, Brazil to be a part of the Brazilian music revolution. When I got to the end I was saddened to hear that he passed away in a fire in his apartment. This album would have made him a star in Brazil with all the latin tinged instrumentals and experimental vocal work that he accomplishes. Taking amazing traditional Brazilian influences and making them more modern with electronics is becoming a mainstay and a trend that should get noticed. The rhythms Suba gets rolling on SPC are so catchy and danceable that you just have to start moving while listening.
