When one listens to Kasey Anderson you can’t help but wonder how he can only be 21 years old. His voice is much more seasoned that that of someone in their early 20’s but this album is a testament to his youthfulness as well as his talents. His stories are very mature for what little living the guy has done. His able to have a swaggering tune like Steve Earle’s come to life without any reservations. There are diverse instruments like mandolin on “Goodnight NY. Kasey is the proud owner of a voice that is apt to telling these types of stories and has mastered the delivery of his warm, smoky, and heartfelt voice. The greatest thing about Kasey is the way he presents the story he has crafted. He pulls you in just like a seasoned folk singer and keeps hanging on every word. That, and the songs are incredibly written. So don’t be fooled by his Tom Waits look that he is going for on the cover. He is as much a story teller as Bruce Springsteen or Steve Earle.
