The A-Side is one Beck wished to forget and is on record as saying how much he hates it and regrets doing it. I bet he still lives off the royalties though. It is a staple of the party circuit to this day and has pretty much become a parody of all itself. It is sadly ironic that Jeff Beck, one of the greatest of all unsung guitarists, should be largely remembered for a party piece track of utterly throwaway pop which is so out of character with the rest of his catalogue. Yet the man's career was nothing if not mired in controversy - he fell out with virtually everyone he worked with and was notoriously unstable - the price of being an extremely talented musician perhaps. However, much more interesting and demonstrative of Beck's talent, is the B-Side which contains some great bluesy work based on Ravel's "Bolero" as well as the R&B staple, "Rock My Plimsoul" sung by none other than Rod Stewart.
