As his press release states: Ace Reporter wrote and recorded one original song every day of 2010. Now Ace is releasing a series of EP's that highlight various tracks from the ambitious threesixfive project. The Sleepyhead EP is five song collection of stripped down acoustic songs featuring introspective songwriting intertwined with delicate guitar strums, violins and chimes.
Ace Reporter is a multifaceted singer-songwriter hailing from Brooklyn, NY. Mincing a wide range of classical vocals and acoustic guitar playing, Reporter has the type of sound that could appeal to fans of a Freddie Sipo or Jeff Buckley. “My Little Love” is an upbeat track with a firm yet melodic strumming and high-pitched vocal effort. The intro track “Sleepyhead” is truly the watermark to an album mostly dedicated to light-hearted fairytale like hymns. A terrific blend of soft-acoustic rhythms and vocals, this song has a subtlety like most of Reporter’s recordings
While most of the Sleepyhead EP is short and soft, there is plenty of evidence Reporter has a morality and respect for finely created tunes. I’d be interested to see where his classical background takes him in the years to come.
