While Blackalicious released one of my favorite hip hop albums of alltime with Nia, I was still a bit sceptical with their new album. After so many people raved about it I took the plunge and I am sitting here bopping away to the beat of a different drum. On Blazing Arrow, the Blackalicious crew has ventured out a little and gone for an even funky sound. They succeed on all fronts and I am mad at myself for waiting such a long time. There sound is a perfect mixture of old school and new grooves. Blackalicious is able to keep a positive outlook and have a good time with their rapping. Some guest artists on Blazing Arrow include none other than Zack de la Roch, The Roots' ?uestlove, and old school Gil Scott-Heron. This is an album that will definitely end up on my favorite hip hop albums of the year.
