Peven Everett hit my desk and previous to that, I had never heard of this wonderful hip-hop R&B artist. He has diversity like I have never heard in the urban music scene. Sometimes I even swear it’s Stevie Wonder singing, like on “You Are To Me, a beautiful samba styled ballad that really shows off Peven’s talents. He can drop a rhyme nicely too like on the albums hottest rap track, “I Can Give It. He’s smooth in ever delivery even though there are a couple of tracks that could have been left off. One of the tracks that could have been left off is the closer “Sankofa with it’s 80s synthesizer sounds. The album does start out strong though with “World Love, a cool R&B styled jam that is smooth like butta. I will give credit where credit is due though. Everett takes on all writing, arranging, and perfoming duties on the track. Check it out and get taken away by his dynamic vocals.
