With the rediscovery of Brazilian beats everyone is reaching for anything with a samba style beat that could be considered Brazillian. What we get with Quango's new compilation, Brazilified is one of the coolest and interesting mixes yet. This comp is not only for fans of the samba but people who are into any type of groove based music will completely get into Brazilified. As usual, Quango reaches far beyond what could be considered mainstream to pick artists that were to be included on here. The only artists that I recognize are Jazzanova and Da Lata. The rest are fairly obscure but fit into the genre that has been growing. Bebel Gilberto fans will completely enjoy Brazilified because the music is still in the same vein. It may be a little more upbeat but it was only a matter of oversight that bands like Trio Mocoto were not included. This is a great party album that will get people dancing and asking about the album. Brazilian culture colliding with western influence.
