RecommendCajun is Putumayo's follow-up to last 1999's Zydeco which was apparently one of the best-selling albums in Putmumayo's history. If that's the case then it won't be hard for Cajun to follow suit. The market for Cajun music is far and wide due to it's culture. They trace cajun roots to early French-speaking colonists of Acadia (Nova Scotia) and ended up in Louisiana. The great thing with strong cultures is that they keep their music and heritage forever. Cajun contains tracks from most of today's hottest Louisiana artists and some new up and comers as well. As always with Putumayo releases, there is also extensive liner notes on Louisiana music as well as great write-ups on all the artists involved. A very enjoyable world music party.
