This is what happens when you take the punk out of the punks and the guitars away from a punk band. It's good, don't get me wrong, but it is soulless and cold. The Normal never did anything else under this name and this song, which gained considerable notoriety for being only intermittently available in record shops, was one of the most ground-breaking songs of the era. Soulless and dispassionate it may be, but then that is the point isn't it. Both A- and B-Sides are worth listening to. Herein lies the root of a lot of later industrial electronica as well as a whole generation of synth pop.
