RecommendIt is quite surprising that it has taken this long for Putumayo to come out with a Colombian compilation. The reason for the surprise is that Putumayo is named after the Putumayo valley in southern Colombia. Dan Storper who is the founder and CEO of Putumayo was the man who traveled the world and wanted to bring the sounds of the world to everybody. This compilation celebrates the wonderful upbeat music whether it is newer carnival type or older classic folk style songs. Just from this compilation you can get an idea of the diversity of styles. It is really hard to pull a favorite from this excellent compilation. All of the artists that have been chosen for Colombia are very talented and provide a unique sound and represent their own unique style. This is another very fine international compilation from Putumayo.
