Poor old Travis! What harm have they ever done to anyone? Yet, given the chance, almost everyone seems to lay into them like they have committed some great offence. Travis are about as inoffensive as cheddar cheese so quite why they should be the target of so much hatred is not clear. At their heart, Travis make some good uncomplicated pop songs. They may not be the most technically proficient band on the planet, nor may their music be described as challenging, but it fills a niche and serves a purpose. "Sing" is typical of Travis' output. A solid song with no frills which asks no searching questions and provokes no deep and meaningful analysis. Now would someone tell me what on earth is wrong with that?
