No Knife - Fire In The City Of Automatons
This being No Knife's third album since their inception in 1996 is a path down an every expanding road with forks branching all over the place. They are getting good at their brand of double guitar pop/rock sound. The album kicks off with a rocker in the Jawbox vein called "Academy Fight Song" and manage to get a bit of a Sunny Day Real Estate sound going on "minus one". The band manages to combine both happy and sad elements into their music while still being able to keep integrity. I would imagine that No Knife live would be a sight to see. FITCOA establishes No Knife as a powerful rock band that will be here for years to come.
