Another great single release on a 12 inch vinyl from the superb Chameleons. "Up the Down Escalator" features on their superb first album, "Script of the Bridge". The B-Side is a previously unreleased track called Prisoners of the Sun. The A-side has begins with a simple, single note guitar intro which then runs smack into the brick wall of a thumping drum and the song never looks back from there. "Prisoners of the Sun" is more thoughtful and introspective, along the lines of some of the bands later, quieter pieces. These singles are now pretty much impossible to get hold of these days and only sporadically available as downloads, so get it if you can, where you can.
