Black Ace was the name by which Babe Kyro Lemon Turner usually went. His style of delta blues was unique insofar as he teamed up with Oscar Woods to produce a completely innovative sound. Woods, like Charlie Patton, played his guitar Hawaiian style (on his lap) and the influence of Woods led Black Ace to play start playing a slide guitar the same way. The resulting combined sound of the two men resulted in a smooth, easy-going, very much laid back style of the blues. These tracks were two of only six he recorded in 1937 when he started a radio show. Thereafter, his output was limited.
