It looks like the Pattern may have timed their album release perfectly. Now that rawk and roll is back in the resurgence of garage rock, the Pattern have just the formula for success, dirty, messy, catchy music that appeals to a broad range of punk and heavy rock fans alike. Real Feelness is their sophomore album, their first, “Immediately, was also on Lookout Records. Reel Feelness is more of the same except The Pattern have their sound even more refined. The songs aren’t about angry subjects. Quite the contrary when lead singer, Chris Appelgren croons about “She’s A Libra (one of my favorite tracks) and “Mary’s Sister. The Pattern is more into relationships but in a good way. In the album’s 30+ minutes, there isn’t one slow track. The band keeps it up all the time and by the time your ride is over, you are ready to get off. Head nodding is called for on tracks like “Nothing of Value and “The Best Hate The Rest. Fans of garage rock resurgence need to check out the Pattern. These guys are the real deal.
