For all the posing and the professional twattery that was William Broad, aka Billy Idol, when he was with Generation X the band did produce some good punk singles. This one even got into the charts in the UK meriting the band an appearance on Top of the Pops. This track was a revamp of the Who's "My Generation" and was aimed squarely at those of the Who's generation whom the punks regarded had failed but were still hanging round - the rock dinosaurs. This is full of energy and with Broad's sneering delivery, totally consistent and on message with the punks. Never say that Broad couldn't find a bandwagon he wished to jump on if it got him what he wanted - a shag!
