This little package is a self done project by a songwriter from Massachusetts named Jesse Perkins. By the sounds of the album he was in a bit of a hurry to get the recording done. I can understand the exitement of getting a first project done. He seems as though there is talent bubbling inside him somewhere and he needs to spend some time nurturing it. On a couple tracks his guitar is ever so slightly out of tune as are his vocals on a few. Lyrically, he seems to have spent most of his time with lyrics such as "Wishing me well in the devil's hotel / in the wake of a three night stay" ("Devil's Hotel"). There a even some good arrangement ideas that just need a little more effort in order to succeed. This is a case of a great songwriter that lacks a bit in the performing department. This could mean getting a hired hand to sing your songs. Keep up the good songwriting though.
