Portable - Secret Life
If you like your rock well crafted, crisp, with thoughtful lyrics then you will fall in love with Portable. They manage to come across as a fairly heavy band but still pull off the emotional side too which adds a fantastic variety to the album. Matt Wallace (Faith No More, Paul Westerberg) provides the perfect knob twiddling for this kind of sound. They have a gimick that hasn't been used for quite some time, suit and tie. This band has heart and they will get noticed. If modern rock radio wasn't so sterile they would pick up on this brilliant debut.
