The album selfish machines (the second studio album from post hardcore band Pierce the Veil) was released on Equal Vision Records and shows off the talents of Vic Fuentes (rythm guitar/vocals), Tony Perry (lead guitar), Jaime Preciado (Bass), and Mike Fuentes (drums). This album shows that PTV has grown much better as writer since the album A Flair For The Dramatic (2007). Love or hate Vic's voice, you sill have to admit that he has an amazing vocal range and a perfect voice for the Post Hardcore genre. Even though the screaming vocals aren't the best, you still get those songs stuck in your head. So without any further wait, I'm going to go through all of the tracks.

1.BESITOS- This is one of my personal favorite songs off the cd about a girl's perspective of a breakup. The intro and verses are very catchy, and the chorus delivers a harsh truth about how people think stating, "I'm tired of holding up your backup plans. The breakdown is also very well done and this is a great song.

2.SOUTHERN CONSTELLATIONS- This song eases you into The Boy Who Could fly with amazing clean tones and awesome fallsetto from Vic Fuentes.

3. THE BOY WHO COULD FLY- This song Has attracted a lot of new listenera to PTV because it is free on last.fm. This is easily the heaviest Pierce the Veil song already released. This son delivers heavy guitar parts and is probably one of the best Post Hardcore songs out there.

4. CARAPHERNELIA- This song features Jeremy Mckinnon from the intensly popular band A Day To Remember. This is a very popular song with a cool solo and amazing lyrics. Enough said.

5. FAST TIMES AT CLAIREMONT HIGH- Definately look this up. By far the best song on the album with every instrument blending together perfectly. It has a hint of Michael Jackson influence. This. Is. Amazing.

6.THE NEW NATIONAL ANTHEM- Starts off very slow but gets a lot better. Not a very interesting song, but worth looking up for sure.

7. STAY AWAY FROM MY FRIENDS- An acoustic song with a self explanitory message. A good song for you guys into slow stuff. It's worth googleing on a boring day.

8. BULLETPROOF LOVE- This was the second single off of the disc after Caraphernelia. It's a very happy sounding song but it has heartbreaking lyrics. It's well written a delivers a chorus you can sing along with.

9. I DON'T CARE IF YOU'RE CONTAGIOUS- At first this feels like a regular album track that can get stuck in you're head really easily. The song was a tribute to a girl who had lost her boyfriend and told her story to Vic. Very sad, but very good.

10.DISASTEROLOGY- A song about the dreams of men. Tell about them in a painfully honest way. Not the best song, but it doesn't harm the record.

11. MILLION DOLLAR HOUSES (THE PAINTER)- This is a song that Vic wrote about his parents. It's very catchy, but the autotune at the beginning hurts the song a little. But still definately a song to remember.

12. THE SKY UNDER THE SEA- Tells about how selfish everyone is in reality. It's best part is the chorus and the screams are very good.

13. SHE MAKES DIRTY WORDS SOUND PRETTY- This is an acoustic itunes bonus track featuring Johnny Craig (Emerosa, Dance Gavin Dance). Very catchy and worth searching up.
