Propeller - The Art of Clear Thinking EP
This new AnnArbor, Michigan quartet is getting lots of press. Why so much from this band who hasn’t even recorded a full-length album yet? Well, you will find out on their EP The Art of Clear Thinking. Propeller takes cues from noisy lo-fi bands such as June of 44 and a bit from Slint with their heavy bottom ended indie sound. They slide easily from noisy trashy music right into mellower quiet interludes only to go back to the noise style that they do so well. They are trashy enough but they really know how to pull a melody out of the muck. Even with the bands short existence they have already shared the stage with some fairly reputable bands like Sweet the Leg Johnny, Modest Mouse, The Promise Ring, and Elliott. This EP should bring even more press the way of Propeller.
