Oh, the nerve of it! Never serious, Pete Wylie and these guys turned out this track with all the style of fellow-scouser Ken Dodd, but it worked. The bombast of the guitar line, surely one of the finest examples of musical parody in an otherwise serious piece, made it as a melody, and the lyrics, remembering all those who made the comeback but who you wish hadn't, made the lyrics as memorable. Part of the Liverpool set which also included Frankie Goes to Hollywood, the band never really did much else apart from this. The B-side consisted of a different version of the same track, together with a song called "From Disco Dicko to a Kid in Care". Still, it is one of those tracks which continues to surprise me every time I hear it.
