What happens when you put two legends of the UK Glam rock scene together? The answer is this. Freddie Mercury and David Bowie were showmen par excellence and they managed here to hit the right spot with this duet. Take one simple, yet compelling baseline and add to it a solid rhythmic backing from the drums. Then put two vocalists over that, both with an ability to take a song in directions in never was intended to go. As a final touch, restrain the guitarist from launching into that solo he's been dying to play right until the end of the song. The result is that the guitar crackles with pent up frustration as Bowie and Mercury sport and scream their way across this song. And just when you thought you couldn't take it any more, they slow it down to the pace of a couple of finger clicks. Yes, if youre going to do glam in the early eighties, this is going to be the only way to do it.
